On the morning of morning May 20, 2020 the staff of the Jewish Federation of Winnipeg led a car parade at the Saul and Claribel Simkin Centre, located at 1 Falcon Ridge Dr.
Adam Levy, Public Relations & Communications Director of the Jewish Federation of Winnipeg told the Winnipeg Jewish Review that approximately 15 cars participated in the car parade. He explained that "We felt it was important for us to do this, as the centre's residents have been unable to have visits from family and friends due to COVID-19 restrictions. We did this to show our support for the centre's residents and staff in this difficult time, and let them know that we are thinking of them through this small gesture."
Levy noted that, "We all honked as we drove by the entrance of the centre. The centre's residents were all at their windows watching us, and the staff was standing outside of the centre in a line so they all got to see us drive by."
